Hyatt Place Chongli

The hotel is very homy and comfortable for ski resort. Easy access and surrounded with shops and convenience store.

The breakfast was good. I booking for 2 rooms but each room only entitle for 1 person breakfast which quite surprise for me. i though the standard breakfast for each room should be 2 persons. So I had to get extra pay for additional persons breakfast.

Very spacious , clean rooms. Excellent location few steps from the ski slopes and also from shops and restaurants. Nice staff. Good breakfast.

Very understaffed, hectic and not a relaxing atmosphere at check in which took a long time. Strong second hand smoke and noise on the guest room floors and even in the room, had to change room and ask for new sheets and towels due to tobacco smoke odor. This was apparently due to the presence of local officials who were using rooms to work in before the Olympics. The room itself was decent but very dry and the humidifier didn’t seem to work very well or at all. The swimming pool was closed due to “COVID”, but this felt like an excuse for the hotel to cut costs.

Very good location close to the ski lift. Breakfast is great, good selection of western and Chinese food, good quality. Friendly staff. We will come next season again...

Coffee at breakfast awful. Slow service. Accidentally broke a vase and had to pay 300 RMB. A random amount. Cannot believe they asked guest to pay for accidental breakage at the expensive rate we paid per night. Really disappointing!!! Surely they have built in breakages time their budget of a well known chain of hotels. Incredibly poor.

Overall it’s a good place to stay.

There are no charging facilities for electric cars in their parking garage. The restaurant like many in China makes you order via an app while I prefer to speak with an actual waitress

The location and the pool.

This was one of the poorest hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We had an enjoyable trip to Thaiwoo, and the skiing exceeded our expectations, but the Hyatt Place was astonishingly bad.I will give you a point by point explanation of all the things, big and small, that made it so poor.- Prior to arrival, I sent multiple messages via Bookings.com and received no response. So we were not able to get any basic details we needed before departing on our trip.- When my family and I arrived at Taizhicheng Station, which is the main travel route to Thaiwoo Resort, there was no signage in either Chinese or English to indicate how one gets to the hotel from the station. This might have been useful.- Upon arrival not a single person helped with baggage, despite there being dozens of staff in the lobby that were evidently doing very much.- The check in process was painfully, painfully slow, and there wasn’t even a queue. It took the best part of an hour for us to get our room key. The front desk asked for all sorts of personal information. I get it. We’re in COVID. There are lots of details you require, but why not provide a form that can be filled in efficiently instead of fumbling around and wasting guests’ time?- After check in we then had to go for the painfully, painfully inefficient process of picking up our ski passes, which was, as I understand, facilitated by the Hyatt. The entire system was convoluted and it is hard to fathom who came up with it. Worst of all, the person manning the desk didn’t seem to have a clue how it worked either and could explain what should have been a simple transaction.- We booked what was meant to be a “King Room with Mountain View”. Instead, what we go was a car park view with a slither of what could at best be described as a small hill but probably more accurately described as a rocky crag.

The room was good and the bed was very comfortable.

The staff could not check us in on arrival. Then after a days skiiing one room was still not ready. They took forever to check our documents and we were very tired. The room was too hot. The staff at breakfast stood around watching us struggle with the coffee machine etc. The staff need lots more training!
